Ultimately, each family member must make a choice with irreversible consequences.Adult language and sexual content. What readers are saying."For anyone who has been bullied by a co-worker that always seems to come away "winning" while hiding their true cruel nature this book will ring true to many. Whether we know it or not, we've all met a sociopath in one environment or another. This book was very enlightening and thought provoking. Many situations in the book run parallel to real life experiences, and sheds light on why some people live to destroy others for the sheer pleasure it brings them." - Marcella β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"Great, great, great, read!" - Ed H. β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"I loved reading this book. Psychological thrillers are my favorites. This story was much more scary to me than blood, guts and gore; simply because we all know a sociopath or two in real life. Kudos Mr. Williams, excellent novel!" - Janet C. β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"The author captures the subtle manipulations of a Sociopathic person amazingly well. • Sedition

    Phil M. Williams

    eBook (Phil W. Books, Oct. 10, 2017)
A trucker, a blogger, and a congressman determine the fate of the most powerful empire the world has ever known.Americans are angry and divided along party lines. They’re tired of the endless wars, high gas prices, and high unemployment. They’re tired of the graft in DC and on Wall Street. They’re tired of being spied on and herded like cattle into the prison industrial complex. Like in years before, they’re certain that, this time, their guy will change everything. The Republican and Democratic saviors make their promises, and the true believers swoon, but domestic terrorists aren’t buying what these politicians are selling.Truck driver George Chapman is in the right place at the right time to foil an assassination attempt on one of the most influential men in politics. Some might say the reluctant hero was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some might say it was a false flag. Nonetheless, his fifteen minutes of fame grows because of his extraordinary gift. Will he use his gift and newfound fame to unite the country or to tear it apart?A revolution is coming. Which side are you on?Adult language, content, and sexual violence. What readers are saying. As with all of the editing of your previous novels, you are an absolute gift to edit and the amount of times I find myself reading instead of editing (fear not, I double back!) is ridiculous. You have something to say and the craft to say it - super impressive writing. Well done. -Caroline Smailes, Editor"This book was absolutely amazing! I didn't realize when I bought it, that it was 600+ pages! I figured I would take a month to read it. It hooked me from the first 3 pages. I ended up reading the book just about nonstop for 2 days. Anyone wanting a great thought provoking book, grab this one now!" - Koditten β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"Williams hits this one out of the park." - Jerry G. β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"I've been studying American "democracy" for almost 40 years, step by laborious and painful step figuring out its Machiavellian nature--one genocide after another, endless wars of conquest based on propaganda and lies, erosion of liberties, growing inequalities, and, worse of all, dismantling the biosphere and threatening humanity's very existence. Phil Williams not only captures these horrors, but does so through a captivating, touching, well-crafted, novel. If you care about the golden rule, truth, justice, freedom, peace, and the future of humanity, you owe it to yourself to read this novel. And unlike the articles and books that dissidents like myself write, this is a beautiful work of fiction, a real page-turner. A few minor philosophical points occurred to me. First, the answer in my view is not anarchism but real (miscalled direct) democracy (see: 7.4 Million Cheers for Real Democracy). Second, I entirely agree that we must give our rulers a bit of their own violent medicine, but there is a better way, in my view, than Williams' solution. Why isn't his solution going to work? In part because once you brainwash people, they find it excruciatingly difficult to change their minds (for more details, see the Wikipedia entry "Belief Perseverance" and especially the cited Festinger and Nissani experiments). And speaking of Wikipedia: It's a Deep State project, and should be treated with skepticism on anything that involves history, political assassinations, billionaires, Mafiosos, judges, congressmen, and presidents. Lastly, barely mentioned in this wonderful book is our rulers' gravest crime: if humanity continues on the present course, its chances of survival are close to zero (see online: The Human Experiment is Probably Coming to an End). All in all, I've read two other novels by Williams, and in my view he is one of the best contemporary novelists in the English-speaking world." - Donna Nissani, Author, LIVES IN THE BALANCE: The Cold War and American Politics, 1945-1991 β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

It is a story played out in our lives every, single, day. This is a book that I couldn't easily put down. When I did have to put it down, I was thinking about it and anxious to get back to it. • Capitalism and Slavery

    Williams

Paperback (The University of North Carolina Press, Oct. 14, 1994)
Slavery helped finance the Industrial Revolution in England. Plantation owners, shipbuilders, and merchants connected with the slave trade accumulated vast fortunes that established banks and heavy industry in Europe and expanded the reach of capitalism worldwide. Eric Williams advanced these powerful ideas in Capitalism and Slavery, published in 1944. Years ahead of its time, his profound critique became the foundation for studies of imperialism and economic development. Binding an economic view of history with strong moral argument, Williams's study of the role of slavery in financing the Industrial Revolution refuted traditional ideas of economic and moral progress and firmly established the centrality of the African slave trade in European economic development. He also showed that mature industrial capitalism in turn helped destroy the slave system. Establishing the exploitation of commercial capitalism and its link to racial attitudes, Williams employed a historicist vision that set the tone for future studies. In a new introduction, Colin Palmer assesses the lasting impact of Williams's groundbreaking work and analyzes the heated scholarly debates it generated when it first appeared.
  • Fire the Landscaper: How Landscapers, HOAs, and Cultural Norms Are Poisoning Our Properties

    Phil M. Williams

    Paperback (Phil W Books, Aug. 15, 2015)
"Rarely does a gardening book raise eyebrows, let alone hell."-Diana MorseFire the Landscaper is a biting critique of current landscape design and maintenance practices. The book explores the health risks, cultural biases, origins, and the insults to Mother Nature caused by our culturally backed, legally enforced obsession with artificial representations of nature. The author, Phil Williams, is a former owner of a successful lawn and landscape company. He exposes the waste, fraud, and downright ridiculousness of an industry focused solely on aesthetics. Through his subsequent training as a permaculture designer, he offers many practical solutions aligned with nature to increase the health and productivity of landscapes, and the world by extension, while simultaneously reducing the workload of upkeep. What readers are saying."Rarely does a gardening book raise eyebrows, let alone Hell. Phil M. Williams' "Fire the Landscaper" sounds a battle cry defending private property, homesteading and chemical-free living -- "weeds" and all. A former landscaping mogul, Williams exposes the industry's practice of over-fertilizing and over-mowing lawns, a cycle driven by homeowners chained to such maintenance by Home Owner's Association (HOA) rules or a "keeping up with the Joneses" mentality. Williams also discusses questionable landscaper design and pricing practices, to educate consumers about what they're really paying for, from below-grade trees and shrubs to the lack of permaculture-style plantings that can provide food as well as aesthetics.Part biography, part instruction manual for turning lawns into natural and productive garden-spaces, Williams describes the pride and pitfalls of homesteading. From living with nosy neighbors who can't get their heads out of their mole-holes long enough to understand "perfect" lawns require plant killing toxins that impact land for generations, to downright mean folks who can't comprehend that so-called weeds are often edible, and necessary for healthy soil. For the intrepid homesteader, it seems, fighting City Hall often comes with nature-led land management.Williams bucks the system with style, however, and digresses from instructor to insider often. His stories includes a satisfyingly lurid dream sequence worthy of Sinclair Lewis' "It Can't Happen Here" guaranteed to make the reader want to start an illegal mulch pile immediately. Damn the HOA, full speed ahead! After all, it's your property, right?" -Diana Morse β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"Mr. Williams had me in tears a few time with his rich descriptions, story telling, and simplistic revelations of truth to a simpler, richer way of living. A definite MUST READ for everyone - and I mean everyone." -Terri R. β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"As much about life as it is about the lawn, Fire the Landscaper is a quick and very timely read about the organized destruction of our ecosystems one yard at a time." - T. Hall β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"Great book, I went through it in an evening. Mr Williams does an excellent job using real life examples to paint the picture of where we are, where were going, and where we could go. I wish I could stand on a corner and hand this out." - Matt M. β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"What an awesome book! Its great to have a book out there that challenges the cultural norms head on. It exposes the practices of the lawn care industry, and how toxic and wasteful it is for our environment. It definitely inspired me to get out there and grow some food in my yard instead of just mowing down my weeds, i mean grass...no weeds. A big thank you to Mr. Williams for writing this spectacular book!" - Desiree H. β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…"This is one of the few books I have actually read in its entirety for many years. If you are one that seeks after true nature, this is the book for you. I can't wait to read his future works." - Aaron β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

    eBook (Phil W. Books, Oct. 4, 2016)
What if it's all a lie?Since birth, human beings are bombarded by propaganda from the media, religion, schooling, government, culture, and even our friends and family. How do we know our thoughts are really our own?In a world of infinite information and propaganda screaming at us from every angle, the truth is of paramount importance to our mental health, and can be a matter of life and death for every person on this planet. In The Propaganda Project, I expose the tricks of the propagandistβ€”the tricks needed to legitimize the illegitimate, to make us think up is down, black is white. I dig deep into the muck to extract the truth about government, and the financial interests pulling the strings.I hope you’ll open your mind and journey with me into the belly of the beast. For the rest of you, don’t worry, the best slaves think they’re free. What readers are saying."I really liked your book, as with everything else you write it was thoughtful, well written and well presented. I've edited a number of 'political' books in recent months and I think your book was the best by far. Your arguments were coherent, persuasive and well sourced. Your use of personal anecdote is very good and it really brings this book to life. The opening section about your dad sets the scene and really pulls the reader into the book. Your referencing is well positioned and well presented. I come across so many books that just present facts with no evidential support. Your use of references really helps to build trust in what you have to say." -Gary Smailes, Editor"Rarely these days does one have the opportunity to read something completely honest.
